In May 2012, with approval from the Jilin Provincial Department of Education, our institution partnered with Yeungnam Polytechnic College in South Korea to launch a joint program in Automobile Testing and Maintenance Technology. This program adopts a “2+1” dual-degree education model, with students spending two years in China and one year in South Korea. Since September 2012, it has been included in the province’s unified enrollment plan.

Employment and Further Studies

Yeungnam Polytechnic College actively assists graduates in securing technical positions in Korean-invested and joint venture enterprises specializing in automotive repair, transportation, and related fields. Additionally, the program offers students opportunities to pursue further studies abroad.

Program Features and Objectives

The curriculum and teaching standards for this collaborative program are co-developed by both institutions. The program aims to incorporate excellent international teaching resources and advanced management concepts to train high-level, internationally-oriented application-based talents. The teaching content emphasizes skills, practical experience, process-oriented learning, and continuous development, providing students with a competitive edge for future studies or employment.

Unique Student Activities

In addition to the joint degree program, our institution organizes unique student exchange activities with South Korea. Since establishing a friendly relationship with Yeungnam Polytechnic College in 2010, we have hosted an annual “Chinese Language and Culture Exchange Training Program” during summer or winter breaks. Korean students undergo a one-month Chinese language training course at our institution and participate in various cultural experience activities.

Through one-on-one language practice and daily life support provided by our students, participants from both schools form strong bonds, enhance their foreign language communication skills, foster teamwork, and strengthen the friendship between China and South Korea.

Program Outcomes

To date, three cohorts comprising a total of 18 students from our institution have studied at Yeungnam Polytechnic College. Some graduates have chosen to start businesses in China, join prominent automotive enterprises, or continue their undergraduate studies at universities in South Korea, obtaining bachelor’s degrees.
